Pretty Little Lies: What Big Beauty Brands Don't Want You To Know

Big beauty companies have long been known for their use of cheap, synthetic ingredients in their skincare products. These ingredients are often hidden behind deceptive marketing, misleading consumers into believing that they are getting a high-quality, premium product. However, the reality is that these companies are more interested in their bottom line than they are in the health and well-being of their customers.

One of the primary reasons that big beauty companies use cheap ingredients is cost. Synthetic ingredients are often much cheaper to produce than natural ingredients, allowing companies to cut costs and increase their profit margins. Unfortunately, these cost-cutting measures often come at the expense of product quality, as synthetic ingredients can be harsh on the skin and may even cause long-term damage.

Let's take CeraVe for example. CerVe is a multi-million dollar brand and is popular among cost-conscious skincare enthusiasts. It's supposedly "recommended by dermatologists" and even the Skin Cancer Foundation. That's ironic because if you were to put these ingredients in front of an actual oncologist I highly doubt it would get such praise.

They use clever marketing and branding to make you think you're buying a product that is good for you but let's take a closer look (because labels don't lie).

Another reason that big beauty companies use synthetic ingredients is that they are often more stable and have a longer shelf life than natural ingredients. This allows companies to produce products in bulk and store them for long periods of time without worrying about spoilage. However, this also means that the products are filled with preservatives and other chemicals that can be harmful to the skin.

In contrast, using clean, natural ingredients on your skin can have numerous benefits. Natural ingredients are often much gentler on the skin, reducing the risk of irritation and other negative side effects. They also contain a variety of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that can nourish the skin and promote a healthy, radiant complexion.

Furthermore, using natural ingredients is often better for the environment. Synthetic ingredients can be harmful to the environment, as they may not biodegrade and can pollute water sources and harm wildlife. In contrast, natural ingredients are often sustainably sourced and have a lower environmental impact.

So, what can you do to ensure that you are using clean, natural ingredients on your skin? First, read the labels carefully and look for products that contain natural ingredients such as aloe vera, coconut oil, and shea butter. Second, do your research and look for companies that prioritize natural ingredients and have a commitment to sustainability.

In conclusion, big beauty companies use cheap ingredients and deceptive marketing to increase their profit margins, but at the cost of your health and the environment. It's essential to prioritize using clean, natural ingredients to nourish your skin and reduce your impact on the environment. By making the switch to natural skincare products, you can enjoy a healthier, more radiant complexion while also doing your part to protect the planet.
